About Astronomy

Ever looked up to the sky and wondered if it was just a huge ceiling that changed its colour every now and then? Ever looked out into the horizon and wondered whether the sky and the earth formed a corner way over there? If you actually have, then you have the makings of an astronomer.
This is exactly how astronomy started – with seemingly ridiculous questions which, back then, would be the most brilliant anyone could ask. When Copernicus said that the Earth revolved around the Sun and not the other way around (as generally accepted back then), he and his findings were disregarded and even ridiculed. His theory was of course proven correct later on and is now known as a basic fact of life.
So the next time you think of something you'd classify as silly, give it an extra minute of thought. You just might have come up with something that would change the course of human history.
