- The number 1 carries the inspiration. It is seen as the beginning that encourages the whole process.
- The number 2 is the next step to forward the idea. It gives the angle of choice, contradiction and two-foldness of nature.
- The number 3 stands for multiplication and growth. It is the truth or idea conveyed by the mind.
- The number 4 is the performing part of the process. It stands for law and order, reason and logic.
- The number 5 is about experiencing what has been done. It stands for intervention, understanding and judgment.
- The number 6 is perfecting what has been done. It stands for balance, harmony, cooperation and beauty.
- The number 7 is about assembling of separate parts into a new form. It stands for rest and pausing.
- The number 8 is the re-appraising with objectivity of what has been accomplished. It stands for unfolding and infolding, strength and confidence.
- The number 9 contains the wholeness of the process. It stands for completion, fulfillment and revelation.
Two of the most common methods involve looking at the date of birth and names of people. The birth date which is expressed as dd/mm/yyyy determines the life path while a number obtained from all the letters in the full birth name is the Destiny Number. The vowels and consonants from the full birth name reveal one's innermost desires.
